Workshop: Common Sense Economics for Alabama (Tuscaloosa)

Ever wondered how economic policy and public budgets impact your daily life? Or why so many folks are struggling while so few have so much? Join an interactive workshop to demystify the big ideas that shape our economy and influence decisions in Montgomery and beyond.

Alabama Arise and the League of Women Voters of Alabama will host Common Sense Economics on Tuesday, April 28, in Tuscaloosa. Using tools from Arise’s new Tax and Budget Handbook and AFL-CIO’s Common Sense Economics 101, we’ll break down:

  • What “the economy” really means for workers and families
  • How tax and budget choices reflect our community’s values
  • How we can build a better economy for all

You’ll participate in discussions to make sense of economic policy and its impact in Alabama. Leave empowered with practical insights to join conversations around economic justice and civic engagement. We hope to see you there!
