Congress is moving ahead aggressively with a budget bill that would reduce or remove food assistance, health coverage and other vital services for hundreds of thousands of Alabamians who struggle to make ends meet. These cuts would finance the renewal or expansion of tax breaks for wealthy households and highly profitable corporations.

But it is important to know that this process is not over! We still have time to advocate to defend SNAP, Medicaid and other programs that help families meet basic needs.
